Curtis Furniture recently completed a refurbishment of 49 bedrooms at the 4* Heythrop Park hotel, Oxfordshire. As Heythrop Park is a 17th century grade II listed country estate, the age of the building provided a challenge as the bedrooms were unique in shape. The tired bedrooms needed refurbishment whilst complying to an exact specification and budget.
The clients specified that the rooms had to meet the high standard of the estate whilst complementing the ambience of the location. The refurbishment was approached firstly by listening to the client's needs, then establishing a strategy and finally a solution which would deliver the required results on time, whilst remaining within the given budget.
Curtis provided various pieces of bespoke furniture which were used to solve the problem of the smaller sized rooms. Pale colours were used to make the rooms appear larger, floating bedsides provided more floor space, curved desks saved space whilst providing a functioning workspace and mirrored wardrobes which had sliding doors were used to prevent pinch points. The project took 8 weeks from the first site visit to delivery.
The client's problem was solved, and the Heythrop Park team were very happy with the overall quality of the rooms.
“I am writing to thank you for the work that was carried out in the Shrewsbury Wing at Heythrop Park. The deadlines we asked you to adhere to were tough to say the least, and I was very impressed that you pulled this all together including numerous last minute revisions. The team are very happy with the quality of the rooms and feedback from my clients has been wonderful. If you ever need a verbal recommendation or I can help showing other prospective clients around Heythrop I would be very happy to do so.”Paul Russell - Heythrop Park
