To avoid the risks of shipping from outside the UK, we wanted to select a British Manufacturer, and Curtis are one of the few with the capacity to supply bespoke case goods for 1,000 rooms over a 12-month project. Curtis manufactured bespoke furniture for 60 bedrooms at the prestigious St Andrews’ Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa. The hotel remained open throughout its multi-million pound refurbishment which meant that Curtis had to ensure the manufacture process ran smoothly and on time. Curtis’s experience in delivering hotel refurbishment projects enabled us to complete the project on time ahead of the Open."

The hotel's floor footprint resulted in various room types and configurations to accommodate the available space. To ensure the correct setup and components for each room, a master matrix was developed for Curtis to refer to. Each phase had a one-month timeframe, which Curtis had to manage efficiently to meet handover deadlines. Occasionally, the team had to work at a fast pace to accommodate additional joinery requested by the client. But the installation process was consistent throughout each phase to meet handover.
Curtis helped us to achieve the stunning aesthetic of Malmaison Manchester Deansgate. Working to drawings and moodboards from Koncept design, they made the furniture and fittings as we had envisioned. The details and quality absolutely align with the craftsmanship that we’d expect from Curtis and the style credentials of Malmaison."
“Much of a Hotel Indigo’s retelling of their individual neighbourhood story is achieved through design, weaving in local themes and references, thus demanding bespoke, considered solutions rather than standard off-the-peg options. Curtis’ genuine interest in the successful execution of the brief, giving nods to the local goldsmiths, architects and horologists, was both reassuringly productive and also refreshing.
