A Historic Transformation
10 May 2025
Some buildings carry stories in their very foundations—stories of time, craftsmanship, and community. The Hat and Feathers pub, once a beloved fixture in the City of London, has undergone an extraordinary transformation, re-emerging as the latest Hotel Indigo. Thanks to the careful execution by Omniport, this historic space has been thoughtfully revitalised, blending past charm with modern luxury.
A Fusion of Heritage and Elegance
This 144-bedroom hotel honours the building’s rich history while embracing a fresh, contemporary design. True to Hotel Indigo’s signature style, the interiors take inspiration from the local area, resulting in a uniquely immersive stay. The rooms are divided into three distinct themes—Architects, Clockmakers, and Goldsmiths—each reflecting the craftsmanship and heritage of the surrounding community.
Guests will find custom furnishings that bring these narratives to life, with bespoke bedroom furniture created by Curtis. The Architects rooms, for instance, feature custom desks with built-in cutting boards, a nod to the precision and artistry of the profession. Every detail has been carefully curated to ensure guests experience both modern comfort and a deep connection to the past.
More Than Just a Stay
With Curtis Furniture’s craftsmanship and Omniport’s vision, the transformation of this beloved pub into a boutique Hotel Indigo is a testament to the power of preserving history while embracing innovation. For travellers, it’s a chance to step into a space that tells a story—a story of craft, reinvention, and a timeless love for great design.
